Our Verdict
The Palm Pro is without a doubt one of the best 510 batteries that you can get right now. The ultra small and thin body packs more power and features than you would think from just looking at it and it’s a really nice device.
I like the way that 510 cartridges fit into the Palm Pro because it keeps them protected even if dropped, and the magnetic connection is nice and strong. Although not a big issue, I would have liked to see two differently sized magnetic adapters included with the device rather than two of the same size.
The three voltage adjustment levels are great for oils of all viscosities and the preheat mode is excellent for getting really thick oils flowing. I also really like the airflow adjustment because it’s not something that you get on many other 510 batteries, but it’s a great extra feature that really allows you to dial in your draws.
If you’re in the market for a new 510 battery with a small and premium design, great battery life, and adjustable voltage, make sure that you check out the CCELL Palm Pro.
The Palm Pro by CCELL is a slim 510 battery that is meant for use with cartridges. It’s the successor and updated version of the original Palm and it features a number of features that bring it in line with other 510 batteries on the market today.
CCELL is well known for their 510 thread cartridges like the TH2, and their alternative devices like their 510 batteries and concentrate vaporizers. However, they’re best known for their ceramic coil technology which has been used in many devices; not just CCELL products. CCELL also makes portable vaporizers and disposables.
The Palm Pro can be used with 510 thread cartridges up to 11mm in diameter. It features three voltage output settings, adjustable airflow, and a 10 second preheat mode. The Palm Pro houses a built-in 500mAh battery that recharges with Type-C charging.
At first glance, the Palm Pro is attractive, sleek, and feature-filled. But does it perform as good as it looks?

Design & Build Quality
The first time that I took the Palm Pro out of the box and held it in my hand, I was shocked at how slim it is. It’s really a thin device, which is impressive considering that it houses a 500mAh battery and has three voltage settings. Unless there was some magic involved, I’m not sure how they fit all of that inside of this small body! Just kidding, but it is shockingly tiny.
The Palm Pro has a mostly flat, rectangle shaped body that is 57.5mm tall, 41.9mm wide, and 13.7mm deep. The sides are rounded and one side is a circular shape which is the housing for 510 cartridges. It’s the thinnest 510 battery that I’ve ever used and also one of the smallest. If portability is a big concern, the Palm Pro will satisfy your needs.
Not only is it small but it’s a very nice device as well. The Palm Pro is made primarily from aluminum alloy which is finished with metallic paint. It feels sleek to the touch and it looks great, especially in the two-tone peach/green color that I have on hand for this review. The Palm Pro just has a clean, minimalist aesthetic that communicates right away that it’s a premium and high-end device.
510 cartridges attach to the Palm Pro magnetically, using one of the two included adapters. They’re both the same, so you can use either one with your cartridge. All that you have to do is screw on the magnetic adapter to the 510 thread on your cartridge and then drop your cartridge into the Palm Pro. I like how cartridges sit in the device because they’re protected by the housing. So even if you drop the battery, the cartridge will likely be safe from breakage.
The magnetic connection is solid and easily holds cartridges securely in place. I even tried holding the device by the cartridge and shaking it around to test the strength of the connection and the cartridge remained firmly attached.
Cartridges of up to 11mm in diameter will fit in the Palm Pro, so this means that it’s compatible with 90%+ of cartridges on the market. As for the height of cartridges, ideally you’ll want the base of the cartridge (excluding the 510 connector) to the base of the mouthpiece to be at least 30mm. However, as long as your cartridge measures at least 30mm from the base to the mouthpiece it will work.
Just below where the cartridge sits is an airflow adjustment switch. You can use this to open or close the airflow for a tighter or looser draw, depending on your preference. This airflow slot itself is a slim slit and there’s a lot of variety in how you can set the draw. The switch is firm and stays where it is set to.
I really can’t find much to fault the Palm Pro for. It’s a nice device, the build quality and machining are excellent, and I like how the airflow switch is implemented. As far as I’m concerned, this is one of the nicest 510 batteries on the market today.
Features
In addition to the airflow control switch, the Palm Pro features three levels of voltage adjustment. There are three LED bars on the top of the Palm Pro which are used to indicate your voltage output. These voltage outputs and the corresponding LEDs are:
- 1 LED: 2.8V
- 2 LEDs: 3.2V
- 3 LEDs: 3.6V
On the top of the Palm Pro, next to the LEDs, there is a button which is used to control the device. You can change the voltage output level by pressing and holding the button. Each time that you take a draw, the LEDs will also light up to show your voltage output.
The Palm Pro has a 500mAh battery that recharges with Type-C charging. The port is located on the bottom of the device. Pressing and releasing the button quickly will show your battery charge level as follows:
- 3 Solid LEDs: More than 70% Battery
- 2 Solid LEDs: 40-70% Battery
- 1 Solid LED: 10-40% Battery
- 1 Blinking LED: Less than 10% Battery
The Palm Pro also has a 10 second preheat mode which can be activated by pressing the button twice. This is useful when you’re using thicker oils as it saves you from having to get it started yourself.
Performance
For as small as it is, the Palm Pro is powerful enough to vape all sorts of oils and distillates, from thick to thin, without an issue. I used a few different CCELL cartridges, as well as a few of my favorite cartridges from other brands, and they all fit nicely into the Palm Pro.
All of my cartridges sat with the base of the mouthpiece starting just around the top of the Palm Pro, which is fine, but I would have liked to have a taller magnetic 510 adapter rather than the two short ones.
I like the three voltage levels that the Palm Pro offers. For denser, fuller draws, I used the highest voltage output. It’s good for thicker oils and I got the best results when I also used the preheat mode on the Palm Pro. Running the preheat mode and then using the highest voltage output really makes vaping thicker oils a breeze.
The two lowest outputs work well for thinner oils or for those times when I didn’t necessarily want the strongest draws. Flavor is really great at these lower output levels, so if you like tasting everything that your filled cartridge has to offer, you can use these outputs.
The draw activated firing is nothing short of excellent. No matter which cartridge I used, or how I had the airflow set, the draw activation worked flawlessly. It’s already a tight draw on the most open airflow setting, and closing down the airflow makes it a very tight draw. I liked keeping the airflow mostly open, or only a bit closed, but you can play around with it and see what you like best for yourself.
Another huge plus is the seemingly never ending battery life. The Palm Pro lasts forever on a single charge and it also takes no time at all to recharge. You can easily get a week or more of usage out of a single charge if you don’t use it too heavily.
